When trouble comes
Its time for the Word
Time to give a Word of prayer to your Creator
Time to open your ears to the Words of power
When trouble comes
Its time to remember the Word
Remember the God that brought you through
The last time the world’s storms did brew
When trouble comes
It’s never time to cast the Word aside
To just walk in personal pride
For then the answer the Master will hide
When trouble comes
Its time to hold on to what some call “religious junk”
Laid at your feet in your youth
Laid down as bass tracks filled with truth
It’s the stuff that will bring you out of your funk
When trouble comes
Its time to visit John fourteen, twenty-seven
To recall that before Jesus went back to heaven
He assured us, “Peace I leave with you,
My peace I give unto you,
not as the world gives, I give to you.
Let not your heart be troubled,
Neither let it be afraid.”
When trouble comes
Wrap yourself in the Word
Brace yourself from the wind
Know it is the shield that can defend
And the word was
With God
And the word was
God.
